You will need to apply to Gloucestershire Homeseeker as any other applicant would. Please see our FAQ's on registering for more information.
If you already have an application you must ensure it is up to date and that the housing advice team at your local authority has received your move on assessment.
It is not necessary for you to apply to Gloucestershire Homeseeker if you are not ready to move. You will not be disadvantaged by applying at a later date.
Your effective date is the date you moved into that particular band.
Example: when you applied on 01/10/2009 you were not ready to move on and this date was given as your effective date and you were placed in Bronze band. When you became ready to move on, on 30/03/2010, this was accepted by the housing advice team and this date became your effective date and you might then be placed in a different band.
For more on banding see our FAQ's.
Living in a hostel and not receiving support will not affect your application. Your application will be considered against the Policy as with any other application.
The application form has a section for you to detail your support needs. In order for your application to be assessed properly, please make you sure you complete as much as possible, or ask your support worker to help you with it.
Yes! It is still possible for you to be offered a property once your application has been activated. It is likely that you'll be placed in the lowest band, Bronze, but you may still be offered a property that you have bid on.
In this circumstance it is up to you whether to accept the offer if you feel it is the right option for you. Please discuss any offers of a property with your support worker and your housing advice team.
Absolutely not! We encourage you to maintain any support you have around you so that you live as independently as possible in your new home.
If you need any more support or other help you can contact your local housing team.
