Your local council Housing Advice/Options Team will discuss all options with you.
The Team will investigate your case and make a decision as to whether they have a duty to re-house you under homelessness legislation.
Applicants to whom a full homelessness duty is owed will be expected to make use of their banding status to bid for a wide range of suitable properties within the limited time they are placed in Emergency or Gold band. Click here for more information about these bands
However, if homeless applicants have not been actively bidding for suitable properties, or at the end of the time limited period, the local authority will make a Direct Let and offer a tenancy they consider suitable, and will discharge duty. If a homeless household refuses an offer of suitable accommodation at any time, the Local Authority is likely to decide that its duty under the Homeless Legislation is discharged and the household will be placed in a lower banding. This will be subject to the statutory review process detailed in the Gloucestershire Homeseeker Policy.
