Vacant properties are also advertised in a printed newsletter that is available in various locations around the county, such as Council housing offices, libraries and community centres.

Yes! It only says 'preferred band'. If you cannot bid the system will tell you, examples:
Most vacant properties will be advertised through Gloucestershire Homeseeker. However, in special circumstances a Council or Housing Association may choose to withhold a property (known as a Direct Let ) for a particular household who:
• needs to move urgently.
• is a homeless applicant who has had their duty discharged - your local Council will explain this further.
• requires the property as it has been adapted or is unusual and it matches a particular applicant’s special circumstance.
These properties will not be advertised but they will be included in the feedback information on "Recent Lets " so you know that a Direct Let has been made.

No. The adverts will contain the following address details -
When you register you will be told what band your application has been placed in and what size property you are eligible for.
The property adverts will state how many bedrooms the property has, whether priority will be given to particular bands, and if it is only suitable for particular types of households, such as adults only, or a family. If this information does not match your details, you will know that it is not suitable for you.
When you log in to your account (by clicking on "Login/My Account "), your summary page 'My Account' will appear telling you how many properties you are eligible to bid for and you can then choose to view only these properties if you wish.
No, not necessarily. The photograph may be a “library” photograph of a similar or typical property. You must not, under any circumstances, call at a property that looks like the one in the photograph and ask to look at the property.
