Where are the properties advertised?

Where are the properties advertised?
You can view properties by clicking on the "Property Search " button at the top of the page.
Vacant properties are also advertised in a printed newsletter that is available in various locations around the county, such as Council housing offices, libraries and community centres.
I cannot see the properties I have bid on, what do I do?
Once you place a bid on a property the system will remove it from your search.
To view this property and all your bids, follow these simple instructions -

Log in to your account by clicking on "Log in/My Account " at the top of the page.

Enter your reference number and PIN and click on the box 'Login'.

A page called 'My Account' will appear. Click on the tab 'My Bids'.

Your current bids will appear and it will show the property reference number, property address and your current queue position.
Can I bid on properties when the preferred band in the advert is not my band?
Yes! It only says 'preferred band'. If you cannot bid the system will tell you, examples:
- When bidding on the website through this website log in to your account by clicking on 'Log in/My Account' at the top of the page and the 'My Account' page will tell you all the properties you can bid on in Gloucestershire.

- When bidding by text you enter all the details and if you cannot bid then you'll receive a text back telling you that your bid was unsuccessful because you are no eligible.

Will all vacant properties be advertised?
Most vacant properties will be advertised through Gloucestershire Homeseeker. However, in special circumstances a Council or Housing Association may choose to withhold a property (known as a Direct Let ) for a particular household who:
• needs to move urgently.
• is a homeless applicant who has had their duty discharged - your local Council will explain this further.
• requires the property as it has been adapted or is unusual and it matches a particular applicant’s special circumstance.
These properties will not be advertised but they will be included in the feedback information on "Recent Lets " so you know that a Direct Let has been made.

What information will the property adverts contain?

The landlord

Any special features of the property.

Any special requirements that the applicant must meet in order to be eligible for the property.

The advert may include a photograph of a the property, or one like it.

There will be symbols to help you quickly find properties that might be suitable for you.
Will the advert show the full property address?
No. The adverts will contain the following address details -

The first line of the address but without a house/ flat number

The post code.
How will I know if a property is suitable for me?
When you register you will be told what band your application has been placed in and what size property you are eligible for.
The property adverts will state how many bedrooms the property has, whether priority will be given to particular bands, and if it is only suitable for particular types of households, such as adults only, or a family. If this information does not match your details, you will know that it is not suitable for you.
When you log in to your account (by clicking on "Login/My Account "), your summary page 'My Account' will appear telling you how many properties you are eligible to bid for and you can then choose to view only these properties if you wish.
Is the photograph of the actual vacancy?
No, not necessarily. The photograph may be a “library” photograph of a similar or typical property. You must not, under any circumstances, call at a property that looks like the one in the photograph and ask to look at the property.
Can I search for a particular property?
Yes, you are able to search by:

Cclicking on "Property Search " at the top of the page.

Scroll down to "Search for a property", click on "CBL Properties"’

Enter the details of the property you wish to find and click "Search"
